Individuals
I work with a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, Anxiety Disorders (panic attacks, specific phobia, and social anxiety) and low self-esteem. Further, individual sessions can be used to treat the psychological impact of medical conditions (such as disability, chronic illnesses and others) as well as trauma, bereavement, work stress and family issues.
I adopt an integrated approach, including psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Individual sessions are tailored to your specific needs and are a safe space for you to explore your emotions and the impact of past experience on your current life and relationships.
Couples
Couple’s relationships can be a difficult journey at times. In my work with couples, I focus on helping them increase their compassion to each other and understand their own needs and how to communicate that effectively to their partner. This is done with the aim of helping the couples overcome difficult times in their relationship like those that follow an infidelity, a separation and/or a divorce.
These sessions are a useful tool for you and your partner to explore the dynamics of your relationship together, in a neutral space. Relationships offer an opportunity for each of us to repeat past trauma, or to heal it, and during couples therapy, I work with you and your partner to understand how past experiences influence both of you as partners, and how you can navigate the relationship in the most positive way.
Parent Consultation
Parent consultations can focus on a range of different hurdles that are commonly faced by parents, during their parenting journey. I aim to empower parents and help them to build positive relationships with their children while promoting their child’s wellbeing, by managing their child’s emotional and behavioural difficulties. During sessions, I expand the parents understanding of their child’s behaviour as a way of communication as well as exploring their own attitudes and beliefs around parenting.
Having worked with parents of children with special needs throughout my career, I am also specialised in accompanying parents through the unique journey of parenting a child with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disorders, genetic disorders and life-threatening illnesses.
In addition to individual consultations, I also offer parenting groups which are attended by 5-10 parents, and focus on building positive relationships, setting boundaries, promoting self-esteem, developing emotional intelligence and understanding basic psychological needs of children and how to empower parents to meet those needs.
Moreover, given the current global circumstances, parenting has become even more challenging. As such, I am offering parent consultations to aid parents to deal with the specific challenges of the times, including home-schooling while working from home, setting boundaries and helping your child cope with their anxieties.
