Research into online therapy has shown that it can be just as effective as in person therapy for treating anxiety and depression when using methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is also an effective way of treating emotional difficulties in relationships (i.e. couples therapy) and for parents’ consolations.
In addition, online therapy has its own advantages, eliminating commuting times and allowing the person to be in their most comfortable and familiar setting during the sessions. Furthermore, it also allows for therapy to take place in a person’s native language, which may not otherwise be available if the person is living abroad.
